In our own lives, each of us had someone--other than our parent--who broadened our horizons and brought a little magic into our lives. By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, you can do the same for a child--and you will BOTH be forever changed by the experience.

For over 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass has matched Central Kentucky children with caring adult mentors who will be friends and guides along the journey from childhood to adulthood. Our program serves over 2,200 children each year throughout our 14-county service area. There are over 600 children currently matched with an adult volunteer, with more than 400--over half of them boys--still waiting to be matched with a Big of their own.

Volunteers can choose to work with a child in a school setting for one hour a week, or in the community for 2-3 activities a month. Volunteers are at least 18 years old and make a one-year commitment to making a difference in a child's life.
